We were very privileged to have some archaeologists visit our school from CAPNI, established at Queen's University, over the past 2 days. The children loved learning about what archaeology involves and why it is important and relevant. They were also informed about archaeological sites around them as part of their own heritage, providing them with a greater ‘sense of place’. They handled artefacts, replica animal and human bones, described, and drew artefacts. They finished off their visit on Tuesday afternoon by giving the children a little careers talk. We look forward to their return visit in October.
