Boat building in Primary Seven.
22nd Feb 2024
The Primary Seven children are currently learning about the Titanic as their Word Around Us topic. This week on paper they had to design a boat that would hold as many pennies as possible. They were then all given the same size sheet of tin foil and had to fold, scrunch, bend it to create a boat. They had to estimate how many pennies their boat would hold then put it in water and place pennies in it one by one. We later discussed why certain designs held more coins and the improvements that could be made to make their boats better, if the fair test was repeated.
