Last week the children in Primary 6/7 had a class discussion on what they would like to plant in their allocated bed in the polytunnel this year. The criteria were that whatever they sow would have a short growing life as we want to be able to harvest before the summer holidays.
The final vote concluded with growing spring onions, potatoes, beetroot, spring cabbage and baby carrots. Mrs Duffy also kindly brought in seeds for edible flowers for the children to grow too.
The children really enjoyed preparing the beds and containers and they have started to sow most of the seeds.
